Montague debut of the new MXC, the red plane on the right. As Joe Stagg's
center photo shows, the new MXC has a deeper chord than the venerable
SBXC, and this deeper chord helps visibility at altitude.
Another view of the new MXC. This one is Rick Spicer's. Wingspan is 156 inches with a 14-inch chord at the root.
This was the 9th annual Montague Cross-Country Challenge. Here (left to right) are the backs of T-shirts from 2004, 2005, and 2001.
Rich Tiltman explaning to fellow competitors that the idea is to go up and stay up. In the background, Kelly Johnson and Rich Beardsley have that figured out already. |
